HEISS FENSTER EXHIBITION STAND

The walk in the woods

2016
exhibition stand

The South Tyrolean company Heiss works primarily with wood as a raw material in the manufacturing of windows. For the KlimaHouse trade fair in Bolzano, a new, innovative exhibition stand was to be designed with wood as the central material. The result is a unique and compact exhibition stand, a place to linger in nature.

Six identity-forming tree trunks grow up from the stand and create a natural forest, a return to the origin of the wood. The trunks lend rhythm and verticality to the stand and create a place of relaxation and tranquillity, a place in the fresh air, in the middle of the exhibition hall. Above the visitors’ heads, the image of treetops continues the verticality of the tree trunks and gives the impression of being in the outdoors. Tree trunks provide seating for conversations with customers.

On the back walls, stylised mountain ranges expand the landscape. Windows built into the walls show the company’s product range. The windows are inserted into the landscape and provide a variety of views and insights. This displays the versatility of the company’s product range and the many different building typologies it is suited for.
