DIE MEISTEREI

Translucent sweetness

headquarters

The south-east of Germany is home to the new branch of “Die Meisterei”, a leading producer of artisan delicacies such as gingerbread in autumn and winter, while in spring and summer the focus shifts to artisan ice cream. The bakery also produces baked goods all year round, which are sold and served on location.

The 9,000 square metre site is divided into two parts, one of which is designed as a large outdoor car park, while the second part houses the actual building.

This duality is continued inside and comprises two distinctly recognisable areas. The first area is the production facility, the heart of the company. In the second area, the ground floor is used as a sales area with the kitchen and sales counter. A bar and comfortable seating with a view of the production of the products ensure an intense experience of savouring the various delicacies. The offices are located on the upper floor. The entire structure is adorned with integrated terraces.

The building is characterised by rounded corners. The choice of materials, such as translucent polycarbonate for the production area and glass for the sales and office areas, not only gives the building lightness, but also creates a visual connection with the surroundings.
