DUKA EXHIBITION STAND

The Art of Water, the constant rhythm

2021
exhibition stand

How important is the melodic sound of water in conveying a feeling of well-being?
Starting from this question, we wanted to rethink the concept of the “art of water” for our design of duka’s exhibition stand for Cersaie Bologna 2021 – Italy’s most important fair about tiles and sanitary ceramics. The final project is an open-space exhibition stand that takes visitors on a sensory journey, interpreting the waterfall through the transparency of the glass, white lighting and vertical vegetation.

The curved roof, reminiscent of a rolling wave, rises above a large area that includes the entrance, a bar, a communal kitchen and a private area for personal meetings. The dramatic effect is enhanced by several white LEDs arranged across the entire curvature, mimicking the effect of water droplets on a smooth surface. The lighting plays with the observers’ senses, like a kaleidoscope spreading out in all directions.

In the exhibition area, the special arrangement of the showers and communal areas reflects the versatility of the dukaverse, which adapts to all bathroom conditions. The immersive experience is further enhanced by interactive elements: from the social media column to stay connected even in virtual space to the reception counter, hub of human interactions. Alongside the rhythmic elements of water, green elements with planting and vertical walls balance the influences on the visitors’ sensory perception.
